Jank AI Privacy Notice
Last updated: May 17, 2026
This Privacy Notice explains what Jank AI stores and how the service handles private chat data, reports, account data, uploads, and operational records.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data such as username, email address, login provider, adult-access eligibility or confirmation state, account tier, membership-link state, and account settings.
- User-created content such as private characters, published templates, personas, environments, props, context notes, avatars, and profile text.
- Chat data needed to provide conversations with characters, including messages, conversation metadata, prompt debug data when enabled, and provider response metadata.
- Moderation and safety data such as user reports, report details, reported content snapshots, safety incidents, moderation notes, staff audit logs, bans, and enforcement records.
- Operational data such as IP address, browser or app user agent, request timing, failed login events, email delivery state, queue/model failures, and server logs.
2. Private Chat Privacy
- Private chat message content, stored prompt debug transcripts, and stored raw provider response data are encrypted at rest in Jank AI's database.
- Jank AI moderator and admin screens do not provide a private chat-log viewer.
- Staff do not normally see private chat logs.
- The live application decrypts private chat content only as needed to run chat, build prompts, save conversation history, regenerate responses, perform safety checks, and process user-requested features.
- Operators with direct server, database, key, or code access may have technical ability to recover data when legally required, during security response, or for critical service repair.
3. Reports and Moderation Visibility
- If you report a character, environment, prop, user issue, or assistant response, the report may include the report reason, your written details, the reported content, and related raw prompt/provider text needed to investigate the issue.
- Staff can review report snapshots and safety incidents. This is separate from general private chat browsing.
- Staff notes, moderation decisions, and audit logs are not shown to normal users.
4. How We Use Data
- To provide accounts, login, characters, chat, context notes, public library, creator tools, moderation tools, billing/membership-linked features, and support.
- To operate safety systems, prevent abuse, investigate reports, enforce rules, diagnose failures, and protect Jank AI.
- To communicate account, security, moderation, membership, password reset, email confirmation, and service notices.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
- Chat prompts and related context are sent to configured AI/model providers as needed to generate replies.
- Email providers, hosting providers, payment/membership platforms, analytics/monitoring tools, and storage/backup systems may process data needed for their role.
- Patreon, SubscribeStar, Google, Discord, and similar third-party services have their own privacy practices when you use or link them.
- We may disclose data if legally required, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or to operate the service.
6. Public Content
- Published templates, creator cards, visible creator tags, public profile links, and public library content are public by design.
- Do not publish information you want kept private.
7. Data Retention
- Jank AI keeps account, character, chat, upload, report, and moderation records while an account is active so the service can work, investigate abuse, enforce safety rules, and recover from operational problems.
- Users can request deletion of account data through the privacy contact on the public contact page.
- Some records may be retained when needed for security, abuse prevention, legal obligations, moderation history, legal claims, or backup rotation.
- Backup copies may remain until backup rotation removes them.
8. Security
- Jank AI uses access controls, encrypted private chat storage, server-side logging limits, and operational safeguards to reduce exposure.
- No online service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices
- You can edit or delete much of your own created content from inside the app.
- You can turn Mature mode off when available to your account.
- You can request account data deletion through the privacy contact page.
- You can stop external Patreon or SubscribeStar support directly through those services.
10. Changes to This Notice
- We may publish a new Privacy Notice version at any time.
- The newest active version is shown on the public Privacy Notice page.
- Old versions may be retained for legal and operational records.
11. Contact
- Use the public report-abuse/contact page for privacy requests, abuse reports, copyright reports, illegal-content reports, or account-data deletion requests.
